ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stanton is a former occupational therapist with a Master of Arts Degree in counseling. Passionate about helping people in matters of the heart and life, she has authored two relationship books. Two for the Road, A Relationship Manual Designed for Him and Essential for Her and A Fork in the Road, Your Guide to a Good Divorce.

Stanton has worked in psychiatric hospitals and academic institutions centered on human development and positive mental health. Often focusing on others issues while avoiding her own, she was convinced that her big heart and good intentions would lead her to the perfect partner. She could not have been more wrong. The journey to find her soulmate took several decades, numerous marriages, and the recognition that her own happiness is an inside job. Refusing to give up until she discovered why individuals like her have disastrous love lives, she persevered for answers. Those that are included in her books.

Exposing the red flags and pitfalls associated with difficult partners–in and out of love– Stanton encourages us to direct our time and energy where it will do the most good. Instead of trying to fix your partner, we will do better to transform ourselves. Unearthing what drives us, including our childhood wounds and victories, as well as our adult desires, is key to understanding why we love who we love.

Stanton resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband and two dogs. Aside from reading, her hobbies include golf and tennis. She has recently finished a memoir about her relationship to a suspected serial killer and his powerful and wealthy family.
